NYDEN's New MCI-0410 4-Axis PCI-Bus Motion Controller
Module
San Jose, CA-Nyden Corporation, a worldwide leader in
Motion Control Technology, today introduced its latest
addition to the Company's family of robust motor control
positioning systems for both Stepper and Servo Motors,
the MCI-0410, a 4-Axis PCI-Bus Controller Module
Acknowledging this specific Bus protocol to be the key
successor to the once-popular ISA-Bus Control System,
Nyden's design engineers constructed the MCI-0410
Controller Card to operate superbly as an optimal
controller interface to the PCI-Bus industry. The card
provides engineers with the critical stage technology
needed to operate the most sought-after levels of
command profile and speed execution from a compact
system. The controller offers field-tested,
multifunctional bus solutions that allow equipment
designers of all engineered levels a cost effective
approach to maximizing their design capabilities and
build a variety of program-critical and durably reliable
automation-such as semiconductor, material handling,
food processing, conveying, medical, and packaging
equipment
The MCI-0410 is an ultra high-speed programmable card
that is designed to link and enable motor/driver
connectivity to a simplified controller without the
time-consuming need for designers to learn a new
write-up language or familiarize themselves with the
latest motion control technology not yet practiced in
majority within today's fast-pace industry. The card's
design flexibility is controlled by Nyden's own Pulse
Generator Chip, the MPG2031, which is included to carry
out all facets of PCI-Bus Operation and oversee the
smoothness of all programmed commands set forth by the
engineer. Furthermore, its functions include ensuring
that the running compliancy of the four axis motors (of
either stepper or servo variety) operate proportionally
or independently, and that the complete equipment hookup
easily scales motion profiles during the stages of
Point-to-Point (PTP) positioning, Linear positioning,
Speed, Home Search, Triangular and Trapezoidal.
Additional features of the MCI-0410 include: Z-Phase
Counting and various Signal and Encoder/Sensor Input
keys, a Standard Clock of 3.2768 MHz, an Output Pulse
Rate of 0.1-to-1,638,400 Hz, an
Acceleration/Deceleration Slope of 4.9-to-81,900,00.0
Hz/Sec and Set Pulses of 0-to-16,777,215 Pulses. A
support function allows the Position Interrupt key to be
selected during Home Search or Encoder Input Signaling.
Output Pulses on the controller card provide the
critical need for engineers to obtain Logic Positive or
Logic Negative sets, to direct the machine's movement
Clockwise or Reverse, and to manage the Photo-coupler
and Driver Setting features. Memory space assigned by
PCI configuration is advanced, at 64K byte (10,000H).
For mainstream machine building, the MCI-0410 is
designed to be extremely lightweight and compact:
approximately 130 grams with a dimension of 174 x 106 x
20 mm.
NYDEN CORPORATION, located in San Jose, California, is
the R&D and sales headquarters for MYCOM, INC., of
Kyoto, Japan. The company's unique approach to customer
service success is achieved by the support of thousands
of engineers and end-users worldwide. A multi-million
dollar company, NYDEN is proud to carry MYCOM's patented
NanoDrive(TM), the first high resolution series to run
over 500,000 steps/revolution, and the 5-Phase STAR
Driver Stepping Systems, a series of low-cost 5-Phase
stepper motors and drivers that offer increased true
resolution with virtually no low speed resonance
problems. The company is also the first to design the
world's highest Nano-type 5-Phase Series. The
NanoDrive(TM) offers users true resolution of over
500,000 steps per revolution for the highest accuracy
and lowest vibration possible.
NYDEN CORPORATION supplies a new generation of motion
control systems geared for every type of application. We
offer 5-phase & 2-phase stepper motors with matching
drivers, customized multi-axis programmable stand-alone
controllers for steppers and digital servos, ISA and PCI-Bus
motion controller cards, and a variety of motion-related
accessories. We also work as contractors toward the
design of our customers' most fundamental motion
control-related application.
