Nyden Corporation Introduces its New CMS-100 CosmoNet High-Speed Motion
Controller
The Gold Standard for Designing the Most Critical Stepper Motor-Related
Application with Optimal Simplicity.
San Jose, CA-Escalating to a higher elevation on the micro-processing controller
forefront, Nyden Corporation (a subsidiary of Mycom, Inc.) today announced the
availability of its newly designed CMS-100 CosmoNet, an advanced single-axis
Stepper Motor Controller that is expected to become a revolutionary development
to the Motion Control Industry in 2006. By providing engineers and scientists
worldwide with optimal high-speed micro-processing capability from a fully
integrated USB 2.0 logic controller, the latest plug-and-play system from Nyden
offers straightforward, time-efficient controlling action. Its main duty is to
program and employ local network connectivity between user PC and the
motor-control system. Setup and design of a slew of automation ranging from
semiconductor-related equipment to CNC-type systems, from critical medical/labroom-type
machinery to various material handling apparatus, are easily accomplished
without performance-abandonment.
The standalone CMS-100 CosmoNet provides optimal EEP-ROM chip and transmittal
program memories, and is able to execute the most difficult profile commands
(such as Point-to-Point, Trapezoidal and Triangular movements) with optimal
smoothness and time-efficiency. Furthermore, in the hands of even the most
novice designer, the controller, with its incorporated USB technology, offers
optimal throughput in program operation with the usage of intuitive commands and
Basic programming. This leads to a vast simplification of controller functions,
and allows programming motion sequences/profiles at an isochronous level to be
carried out without multiple external hardware installations or the need to
constantly "hookup" wires or "plug-in" program cards.
Nyden's CMS-100 CosmoNet controller enables engineers to reap the benefits of
operating a best-in-class control system that is also smartly-priced for even
the most budget-conscious company. Its architecture is designed to be modular
for external device linking, compatible with most existing program functions,
and compliant with all industry-standard NEMA-sized Step Motors of 2-Phase and
5-Phase types. Programming is easily achieved when the user sends commands to
the host computer. No external power supply is required for the CMS-100, which
is also extremely lightweight and compact: 535 grams and a millimeter sizing of
35 (W) x 126 (D) x 165(H).
Additional command features include External Start and Communication. External
Start functions consist of: Homing, Positioning (Absolute/Relative), Scanning,
Jog, Deceleration, Deceleration Stop, Emergency Stop, Parameter Write, Parameter
Read, Status Read and Alarm Release. The controller's program capacity offers a
moving data system, with the EEP-ROM writing time of 105. The Moving Distance
Setting Pulse and the Moving Command Setting Range are -2147483648. A mechanical
sensor within the system offers a Forward/Reverse Overrun and a Home selection.
The CMS-100 also consists of 12 Inputs and 2 Outputs, which serves as the
controller's main I/O offering. Some of these I/O features include Photo-Coupler
Isolation, Error Output (EER), Internal Power Source, Deceleration Signals and
Position Specified Signals.
NYDEN CORPORATION, located in San Jose, California, is the R&D and sales
headquarters for MYCOM, INC., of Kyoto, Japan. The company's unique approach to
customer service success is achieved by the support of thousands of engineers
and end-users worldwide. A multi-million dollar company, NYDEN is proud to carry
MYCOM's patented 5-Phase STAR Driver Stepping Systems, a series of low-cost
5-Phase stepper motors and drivers that offer increased true resolution with
virtually no low speed resonance problems. The company is also the first to
design the world's highest Nano-type 5-Phase and 2-Phase Stepper Series. The
NanoDrive(TM) offers users true resolution of over 500,000 steps per revolution
for the highest accuracy and lowest vibration possible. NYDEN CORPORATION
supplies a new generation of motion control systems geared for every type of
application. We carry stepper motors with matching drivers, customized
multi-axis controllers for steppers and digital servos, motion controller cards,
and a variety of motion-related accessories.
