NYDEN’s New Equiangular INS20 NanoDrive™ Series: World’s First
2-Phase/4-Phase Motor Driver to Reach 200,000 Steps per Revolution!
San Jose, CA—A monumental leap for Motion Control Technology has been carried
out today by NYDEN CORPORATION with the North America release of its Equiangular
INS20 NanoDrive™ Series. CE-rated and boasted by design engineers as the world’s
first unipolar 2-Phase/4-Phase motor driver to successfully reach a maximum
equiangular nano-resolution of 200,000 steps per revolution, the INS20 NanoDrive™
series is available in both AC and DC versions for flexible integration to power
NYDEN’s stepper motors in NEMA sizes 17 and 23, of the 4, 6, and 8 lead variety.
A robust solution to its nano and micro-step counterparts in the motion control
market, the INS20 NanoDrives™ offer 16 equiangular resolution setting controls
(via a DIP switch setting) programmable from 1/1 step to 1/1000 step. From the
vital function of a single intelligent torque chip specially-designed and
positioned in each driver series, resolution settings are programmable to rotate
NYDEN’s attached motor 360º with a 100% success rate of achieving
equiangular-controlled steps for each step movement of the entire rotational
cycle. This “no-missed steps role” carried out by the torque chip results in
optimal step accuracy for the smoothest resolution possible.
The new Equiangular INS20 NanoDrive™ Series is very economical and
user-friendly. Its most innovative features provide increased reliability and
greater flexibility for OEMs requiring ultra-fine positioning in the vast design
industries of: test, robotics, semiconductor processing, wafer probing, food &
product packaging, aerospace, inspection, lasers, wood & metal equipment
building, conveyors, and (material) handling equipment.
Each AC version integrates 100-120V input voltage for maximum performance, with
optional power consumption of 150 (W) and 300 (W) to power either low or high
phase current motors. Dimensions are: 40mm (W) x 142mm (H) x 110mm (D).
Lightweight at only 700g with the option to purchase with or without its richly constructed case made of durable steel and
reinforced metal, the INS20 also offers Signal Inputs and Signal Outputs, such
as: Photocoupler, Input Signal Voltage, Open-Collector Output, MONI and HEAT
Outputs. Furthermore, the intelligent torque chip included performs additional
key roles. It allows users to eliminate the need for a costly ball reduction
mechanism due to its ability to maintain maximum holding and running torque
while performing each nanospeed, and carry out extremely smooth running
operation while retaining critical torque needed for optimal motor performance.
The torque chip is also an effective overheating protector used to detect device
overheating state by activating the driver’s AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN function.
The series’ DC version is known as the INS200, and operates from a single
unregulated 24-36 V DC power supply, also supplied by NYDEN. Dimensions are:
34mm (W) x 106mm (H) x 72mm (D). The DC series is lightweight at only 240g, with
the option to purchase without a covering; and inherently is the most reliable
2-phase/4-phase driver available for space-critical applications competitive to
the high resolution and torque functions of servos, but without their high
prices that usually lead to long commissioning/installation time and costly
maintenance.
Boasting the capability to easily compete with the pricing and performance of
the industry’s NEMA-sized servo motor-driver systems, NYDEN’s Equiangular INS20
NanoDrive™ Series also offers opto-isolated inputs and outputs for increased
flexibility, such as: auto-current cutback at standstill, automatic current
shut-off, lit monitor and overheat indicators, built-in short circuit protection
and selectable 2-Phase/4-Phase motor type with resolution modes via a DIP
switch. With a basic step of 1.8º, the resolution modes include: 1/1, ½, ½.5, ¼,
1/5, 1/8, 1/10, 1/20, 1/25, 1/40, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000. The
series is CE-rated and approved to ensure the highest international safety
rules; and comes with a simplified user’s manual for data acquisition and
analysis.
