NYDEN’s New INS20-PF High Torque 2-Phase Stepper Series
Nema Sizes 17 & 23 High Torque Motors Reach 200,000 Steps-per-Revolution When
Driven by Our NanoDrive™, for Precision Fastening and Optimal Resolution
Performance in a 2-Phase Package.
San Jose, CA—NYDEN CORPORATION announced today that its patented INS20-PF
Stepper Motor series is now available to OEM engineers wishing to design high
performance automated equipment in need of both ultra-high resolution and
heightened torque in a low-cost 2-Phase stepper motor package. Specifically
designed to work with NYDEN’s new INS 2-Phase NanoDrive™ introduced earlier this
year, the new INS20-PF Stepper Motor series offers users up to 200,000
steps-per-revolution for optimal smoothness and unyielding resolution.
Furthermore, the offerings of over 187 Oz-in Holding Torque for enhanced
fastening efficiency in both Nema sizes 17 and 23 and an all-metal/high-quality
bearings construction attribute to the simplified usage of designers in a
variety of industries, such as: medical, robotics, semiconductor (processing
equipment), packaging, lasers, CNC machines, conveyors, food, science/medical,
woodworking and aerospace.
The series has mainly been developed around NYDEN’s motion control
infrastructure for pioneering high-end nanotechnology incorporated into stepper
systems and the working engineer’s desirability (and affordability) to use such
products during these harsh economic times. With the traditional stepper motor,
users usually encounter performance limitations that are too expensive and
time-consuming to fix. By contrast, the INS20-PF series enables straightforward
flexibility: very high resolution and high torque access as standard functions
included in a low-cost, modular motor-driver package. By introducing the new series, NYDEN
also wishes to promote a greater worldwide recognition and deployment of
Nanotechnology Motion Control systems, and to proliferate a wider range of these
advanced instruments for greater design productivity and simplicity.
With a basic step angle of 1.8°, the INS20-PF Stepper series is able to perform
at 16 resolution modes via a DIP switch panel on the connected NanoDrive™. These
modes include: 1/1, ½, ½.5, ¼, 1/5, 1/8, 1/10, 1/20, 1/25, 1/40, 1/50, 1/100,
1/200, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000. Furthermore, Equiangular-controlled steps for each
step movement of the entire rotational cycle are easily achieved with the new
motor series when being driven by the NanoDrive™. This is made possible by a
single intelligent torque chip specially-designed with the intentions of
creating uniform mechanical step angles with the working compliance of each
rotor teeth and effectively providing the motor the highest resolution possible
while maintaining very high torque.
The INS20-PF Stepper series features a maximum current rating of 2 Amps and
Rated Voltage of 2.78 to 5.46. Size 17 model’s diameter dimension is 42mm and
has a 5mm diameter on the front and rear shafts, with standard mounting holes
for external output mechanisms or optical encoders. Meanwhile, size 23 stepper’s
diameter dimension is 56 mm and also a 6mm diameter on the front and rear
shafts. NYDEN also offers the latest in quality dampers and optical encoders at
very low cost, and will happily mount these devices onto the motor at no charge.
The stepper has 6 leads for effective unipolar drive control. Its exterior
all-metal housing is highly durable and designed to prolong mechanical life, 15%
longer than industry-standard 2-phase/4-phase high torque steppers. Exceeding
industry standard B rating, a high insulation class rating of E granted by the
National Electrical Manufacturers Association attributes to the motor series in
its ability to continuously operate at high temperatures without wiring
insulation failure. The result is a superb maintenance-to-performance ratio.
Furthermore, shop-room dust and slow-grown microbe particles associated with
chemical-contaminated labroom and engineering environment bear no danger to
maintaining the stepper’s performance and its carefully-constructed exterior
craftsmanship. A full 1-year warranty is provided. Consequently, the series
provides ultra rugged reliability, and the most effective torque and resolution
possible in the smallest space for motors. As NYDEN’s most advanced high-torque
2-phase motors, the INS20-PF Stepper Motor series is the premier product to use
in order to achieve a full array of sophisticated motion control capabilities.
